GBR Phoenix Beard named as joint leasing agents at Bruntwood’s Two Cornwall Street as planning application lodged
Bruntwood is to kick-start its £14m office redevelopment at Two Cornwall Street in Birmingham city centre. It has lodged a planning application with Birmingham City Council to bring forward the scheme. The redeveloped Two Cornwall Street will deliver circa 110,000 sq ft of Grade A offices in 2016, with GBR Phoenix Beard engaged as one of three leasing agents, having advised Bruntwood on the acquisition of the scheme in 2014.

GBR Phoenix Beard has agreed terms with Opus International Consultants (UK) Ltd for the company to double the space it occupies at 3800 Parkside, Birmingham Business Park. Under the new arrangements, Opus has secured 2,718 sq ft of office space (suites 5 and 5a) under a ten year lease, with the option of a five year break clause.

The deal is for a new 10-year re-geared lease, with the law firm taking an additional 3,700 sq ft of office space on the first floor of its Birmingham headquarters. Rents have not been disclosed but the quoting renting was £22 per sq ft.

Family-owned since 1717, the prime focus of Calthorpe Estates is the prestigious 610 hectare Calthorpe Estate in Edgbaston, which it promotes as providing the ‘best place to live and work.

GBR Phoenix Beard has revealed that it has acquired Optic Asset Management following several months of detailed discussions between the firms. The new business will be called GBR Phoenix Beard and will trade with immediate effect.
